About Ken
As a young cycling enthusiast, Ken toured the country building racecourses and finish-line structures for professional bicycle races. During these races, Ken’s problem-solving and technical skills became obvious. He became one of the most talented motorcycle drivers for the camera crews filming the high-speed cyclists. With precision, he could position the motorcycle to give the camera person the best shot without interfering with the race.
After several years working as a carpenter, clients and mentors encouraged Ken to transition to general contractor. He has been enjoying this work for 34+ years. His passion for beautiful architecture, community, collaboration, and ethical business practices has made him a sought-after contractor in Boulder County.
Beyond work, Ken and his wife, Susan, spend much of their time outdoors enjoying a variety of sports and other adventures. He finds constant inspiration touring the western landscape of the United States, with his wife and mother-in-law, Jean. Jean is an artist, author, nature guru, and high-altitude archaeologist. She is an inspiration and much-loved mentor to Ken.
Ancient civilizations fascinate Ken. Their sense of community, art, and architecture informs his views on the art of building and how structures connect to their environment.
His love of hiking inspired his choice of the cairn as the company logo. If you are unfamiliar, a cairn is a group of stones which are carefully arranged atop one another. This ancient practice is often used to guard a landscape, sacred site, or burial ground.
